BTDT Moms who didn't take any classes. . .
My sister mentioned something about hospital paperwork that if you don't go to a class that DH would be forced to fill out while you are in labor?
Is this some extensive thing?

not at all. its the whole check in process. i was induced so I checked in myself. Nothing crazy. You can fill it out before hand though to save time

my sister is being kind of annoying about this, i keep telling her that we CANNOT make any of the classes - but she keeps insisting that we HAVE to and we will regret it. it is so frustrating!

he didnt have to do any of that
we were told by like 10 people if we didnt tale a class, he wouldnt be allowed in the room and when I asked my doctor he luaghed and wanted to know who started that crazy rumor lol

while I did find Lamaze class to be helpful, I'm almost positive I would have made it through labor just fine without it 
Don't stress. we didn't have to fill out any paperwork during classes. She might be talking about the hospital registration forms? Which you should get from your OB directly to send in yourself.

Thanks ladies. I am going to the OB tomorrow so I will ask about the forms then.
ETA: We started the laugh and learn series on DVD last night LOL total cheese. But we learned the first 5 signs of approaching labor!

My Dr.s office gave me a packet or pre-registration forms around 24 weeks. I sent everything in already.
You may be able to ask the hospital for forms ahead of time

I HIGHLY recommend that DVD- the breathing techniques were way more indepth than the ones we "practiced" in my labor class.
I never filled out any paperwork at my birthing class- and didn't go to any classes when I was pregnant with #2.
There is pleanty of time during the check-in process for DH to fill out any paperwork- they'll be checking you out in triage to see how dilated and strong the contractions are. In an emergency type situation, he'd really only need to provide the insurance card and ID.
BTW- at my OB, I have already filled out my pre-registration forms and even paid some money toward the "expected" balance after insurance. I'm not sure if all hospitals do it that way though.

We didn't fill out any hospital paperwork during the classes. However they did tell us during the Lamaze class that our pre-registration paperwork should have already been in. You get that from the doctor though. I had already sent it in and just checked to make sure they received it. There is still a couple of things to sign when you're admitted. No biggie!

We didn't take any classes, and there was no problems with anyone being in the rooms with me. To be honest as far as the breathing exercises, the nurses helped me through it while I was in the hospital, so I didn't feel bad at all about not taking the classes.
