BTDT Moms, when did wean your DC off bottles?

15.5m DS has been getting half formula/half whole milk in bottles. Recently he has been rejecting the bottles. He will drink about 3 ounces in the morning and then maybe 4 ounces right before he goes to sleep. He rejects most all other bottles or drinks like 1 oz at a time.

When did you wean your DC off bottles?
Did your DC self wean?

I think DS is self weaning?

I weaned DS off around 13 or 14 months.
It took him a bit to understand the sippy, but, once he got it, all bottles went in the trash and there was no going back.

My DD has a sippy cup, but, she's not quite ready. She gets feeding therapy as part of E.I and we work on it.
It'll be a bit before she gets it.

DS still drinks a bottle of milk in the morning. It's the only bottle he drinks and he needs it like most people need their coffee.

Otherwise, he's been off bottles since he was around 13/14 months old.

14 months I weaned him off the breast and 15 months off the bottle

I think Colin will be off the bottle sooner b/c he does well with a sippy already. Ryan didn't hold his own bottle, or take a sippy for a while - but maybe I didn't introduce it early enough.

For 2 of my kids I started 1 bottle a day (night time bottle) around 11 months then took that one away at 12 months.

for my 3rd Dc I took the bottle away cold turkey at 15 months.

Not there yet with my last.

I think your Dc is self weening. I would follow his lead.

As soon as we were done with forumla when DD was almost 14 months she on her own decided she was done with bottles.

Our ped said anywhere after a year. We weaned off bottles right around 17 months.

I didnt wean until 18 months at my Drs urging. DS loved his bottle and was still doing 4 8oz bottles a day. He weaned without any issue, never even asked for the missing bottle.

But his milk intake has never been the same.

ETA: My ped says by 15 months they should be bottle free.

I only put formula or BM in a bottle so once he was done with formula around 12/14 months he stopped getting a bottle.
