BTDT moms--travel system Q

So I've been reading Baby Bargains to help me with my registry. The authors aren't really into travel systems.

Did you go with one for your first DC and if so, are you happy that you did? Or do you wish you just used snap and go and then registered for (or went out and bought) another stroller for later on?

Emmy is 7months and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my travel system. For me, it made more sense to buy the system then to buy a carseat, snap and go, and a stroller. We have the Chicco in the Miro pattern. Bought at Amazon.com I love that I can snap her in quick for short trips, but that I can also place her in the stroller now so she can be out and about with us looking around.

I have a travel system and a snap and go. I wish I would have just gotten a snap and go. The travel system stroller is bulky, so I don't really keep it in the car with me. I have used it a handful of times for walks near home, but I now use my lightweight stroller constantly!

Never went with the travel system. It seemed like too much for me to deal with. We have the snap & go, and I don't love it, but it is super easy to use. Also have the city mini, but she is still a little to small for that. I love the city mini, can't wait to use that all the time.

I have a Chicco travel system and I love it. DD is 3 months old and she is able to sit in the stroller now when we go out since it reclines and the bottom locks up so she can push her feet against it. When we were registering, DH and I found the snap and go to be flimsy. I like the fact that the stroller on the travel system was nice and "strong".

Re: BTDT moms--travel system Q

Not a BTDT, but I just registered for the Chicco travel system. A travel system was recommended to me by my cousin and my neighbor, who have 6 kids under 5 between them.

If you have a small car, the travel systems look like they're going to take up a lot of space in your trunk, which is a PITA. Some of the systems I saw were really big and cumbersome.

I've got a big car, so room isn't the issue, but weight was. (I'm 4'11 with a small frame - not exactly a brute, lol). But the system I registered for is easy to close, easy to push, and not ridiculously heavy. It's got lots of storage options for al the cr*p I'm probably going to be lugging with me. And to me, it felt more secure than a Snap N Go.

Go test them out and see what you think! That's the best way to know what you like and what you're comfortable with.

Did not go with the travel system. LOVE the snap and go and used it for a very long time. It was perfect for when baby was asleep in the car. My stroller that I got was also compatible with the infant seat so I could use it in both.

Skipped the travel system.

I went snap & go then maclaren.

I also got a jogging stroller that we use for the park.

I didn't want a travel system. Way too bulky for my taste.
I love the snap n go- it's really all you need.
I registered for a Macarlean stroller from when she is out of the infant seat...

For both my girls, I used the Snap and Go until they outgrew the infant carrier, then I put them in the stroller we had registered for (which was a Pliko P3 at the time). I think anyone's crazy who DOESN'T use the Snap and Go! Chat Icon
