BTDT moms of toddlers w/ newborns
Please share your experience with me!
Came home from hospital on Fri w/ newborn (I had c section). My 20 month old has been sleeping over my Inlaws house since then ( we see him during the day). newborn is up all darn night (from 1130-130 and again from 4AM -6AM), but will sleep until 10-1030 AM. DS 1 wakes at 7 AM, I feel like I will Lose it without the extra few hours sleep.
we keep putting off having him sleeping here again bc of newborn waking him up, and us being up all night.
each day we say we will have DS1 here, but we are so exhausted it will be insane once he sleeps here ( he also wakes once per night for god knows what reason!)
should we keep taking the help from inlaws or are we just prolonging the inevitable 
Any advice from BTDT Mommies?! I'm afraid my entire household will be up all night !

I say bring him home and see how it goes. My boys were 14 months apart and we have a one bedroom apt. If your inlaws can help during the day maybe you can nap at least during one of the baby's naps it will definately help you adjust in the beginning.

us too, I forgot to mention we are in a one bedroom

Great Idea about having them during the day
We ended up putting the baby in the living room at night so he wouldn't disturb the older one at night.

It was hard in the beginning. My DH was home for a week, then my mom took my older daughter 4 out of 5 days of the following week. That way I could rest a little. After that I was on my own. I was def tired, but once Ainsley started sleeping longer stretches I felt so much better.

I would bring him home and get him back into his regular routine ASAP.
WE had a hard time with DD when we came home with DD #2. Mostly at bedtime, but I think it was because my mom would take her for the day and her whole routine got thrown off. We are not sticklers by any means, but there is was a lot of changes going on for her little 2 year old world.
Best of luck, I'm sure it will all work out.

I would personally bring him home as soon as possible. You want him to get used to the baby being there.
Honestly, my baby was the worst sleeper for the first six months so I ran on pure exhaustion. It's inevitable when you have a toddler and a newborn. My oldest also woke up for the day at 5:30am. It was torture. You do get through it though. I had no help throughout the week either so I was living on barely any sleep dealing with a very high energy toddler, and a newborn.

I had DD1 home the first day we brought DD2 home (I had a c-section too) and it was much better than I ever anticipated. Their rooms are right next to each other and DD2 has never woken up DD1 which was a major concern.
My parents take DD1 every once in awhile to give us a break but I wanted her home with us so she could get used to the baby.
