What was your experience like? How are the nurses? How was your recovery process? How many days were you in the hospital? TIA!

I had a fantastic experience. The nurses were amazing they were very calming and stressed how important it was that I walk and get out of bed and that I had major surgery and should take my pain meds since I wasn't bf it would help with recpvery. I was there 6 days my blood pressure was still extremely high and I had a blood transfusion from a pp hemorrhage they didn't want to release me I begged and because I'm a nurse and I worked for my primary care they knew I would follow up on my blood pressure within the 2 days they wanted otherwise I would have been there longer. I'm having a repeat section with this baby and I'm more worried about the surgery itself then anything else

Re: Btdt Moms- If you had a C-section at Good Sam..
I had an unplanned C-section. I happened to kind of "know" my nurse (her son was a good friend of mine in HS and my Jr. Prom date. She didn't realize who I was until DH said something while she was practically elbow deep checking my cervix ) So, she was super nice to me and was with me all day and even stayed late until I got out of recovery.
Everyone else was really great as well. I have no issues.
I had DD at 6pm on Friday and was released left Monday morning- but they let me go a day early and had a nurse visit me at home the next day (Tuesday) to check up on me and the baby.
ETA: TAKE THE PAIN MEDS!!!! When I woke up Saturday morning- I felt nauseous, but otherwise pretty good. No pain at all- I was shocked. I didn't realize that epi and demerol I had during the C hadn't worn off yet. It wasn't until 2am Sunday Morning that I woke up in horrible horrible horrible pain. I was so mad at myself for declining the pain meds all day. Except one half dose they gave me because I couldn't pee and they were threatening to re-catheterize me

I had DD there 4 years ago. The nurses were awesome (except for the one who came in at 5am the day before I left saying "you going home today? your baby is in NICU right?" scaring the heck out of me).
I had DD at 1:15, I was in recover for probably 1-2 hours, and was in my room with DD around 5/5:30. They kept me in bed until the next morning (EARLY!) when they took out the catheter, helped me to the bathroom, I got a shower, etc.
I had DD on Thursday and left on Monday. I probably could have left Sunday, but DD was a bit jaundice so they were monitoring her, and I told the truth that I hadn't had a bowel movement yet, and they wouldn't let me leave until I did...
Overall, a great experience, which is why I'm going back for this DD in OCtober!
