Btdt moms- how close is labor?

So it looks like I've lost my mucous plug yesterday afternoon. Sorry for the tmi and Without getting too graphic it looked a glob of snot brown tinged. Is that really what it was? Pics online look like it. And is that the same thing as your bloody show? Even though I noticed very little blood. It was mostly brown. I also was checked yesterday at the doctors office and was 3 cm. I'm still not having regular contractions, but I am very crampy. Do you think I'm close at this point? I know it's hard to tell, but other ladies did you progress quickly after that? I'm anxious to get this show on the road. I'm done with pregnancy at this point! Super uncomfortable now.

I personally didn't when I lost it but I also wasn't even dilated at all. I was a week late and had to get induced (again for first DC I was induced never lost my mucus plug).

hoping its not the case for you and you got into labor soon!

Unfortunately it could still be a while OR it could be today. It's so hard to tell. I was one where things dragged out, kept getting told I was really close then nada. I hope don't follow my path! Good luck!

eta- (TMI) I don't remember ever losing a brown mucous plug, only clear/yellow which happened a few times. Did the doctor say you could expect to spot or anything after the exam?

I lost my mucus plug when my water broke. However I wasn't dilated at all so in order to start labor I had to be induced (they had to put cervadil in). So its hard to say!

I lost mine for over a week before I went into labor.

For me it was another 2 weeks after I lost my mucous plug.

I don't remember how long it was...I want to say close to a week. But the mucuous plug can grown back if you don't lose the whole thing I believe. Sounds like I had the same as what you're describing.

I went into labor the a day and a half after I started to lose my mucous plug. Good luck!

Can I also add that I'm 39.5 weeks at this point so I doubt it could be 2 weeks. I'd cry! Lol

With my first I went into labor within 24 hours after I lost my plug. Everyone is different though.

If you are already 3 cm and lost your mucous plug I would say it's soon!! I lost my mucous plug on a Thursday and my water broke Monday night but I was only 1 cm when I got to the hospital! Good luck! You are almost there!

You are close, 3cm dilated, lost plug, I bet it happens overnight!!!

That sounds like it, yes. Mine was the same. Not much blood.
I lost it on Friday and had DD on Tuesday.
But i had an internal the day before I lost it and I was barely a fingertip dilated.
So it may be faster for you.

Unfortunately it varies a lot. DD1 was four days early and by 36 weeks with DD2 I was 50% effaced and 2cm dilated. We thought for sure she would be early. I continued to soften and dilate. Lost my plug at 39 weeks but DD2 was born at 41 weeks when I was induced.

Thanks girls!! I'm still here not so patiently waiting! Lol. I know it varies but figured I'd ask. I don't even care if I'm a little late, I just don't want to be induced again. I had a bad experience.

I did too with DD1 and was determined not to be induced with DD2. I tried all the old wives tales - spicy food, walking and . I also went to one of those foot massage places and asked them to rub the spot that causes contractions! I went into labor with DD2 on my own 4 days late, but was going to try acupuncture the next day. GL!
