BTDT Moms: baby sleepwear question
What does the baby sleep in? A side snap or a onesie, a diaper, and a swaddle? Or should they be in a sleep and play and a swaddle?
Do you put snap shirts or onesies under sleep and plays??

My ds is a furnace.
I put him in a side snap shirt, a diaper, and a fleece swaddle. I only did the shirt because in the morning I would release his arms and reswaddle him under his armpits.

I think it will depend on the temp you keep the room. We keep it on the cooler side and she sleeps with a onesie, socks, her PJ's and a swaddle. Used a cotton swaddle in the summer/fall and a fleece one now. She is toasty without being overheated.

My boys sleep in a diaper, onesie, sleep n play (all cotton, not fleece), then get swaddled. We keep the house at 68 at night.

My first baby was born in winter. We put a onesie, fleece sleep and play, and then swaddled on top of that! A lot depends on the time of year and temp of your house.

We used cotton sleep & plays with a swaddle. DS didn't like his arms swaddled so I'd have to do it under his arms. Once it got colder out (I had him in Sept) I started putting a onesie underneath.

We put our dd in a onesie, and feet pjs, either fleece or cotton SHE HATED BEING SWADDLED so we never did.

Our first DD slept in a side snap t-shirt and footsie pajamas, the lighter cotton ones. We didn't really do the heavier blanket footsie pajamas until she was older.
I tried the sleep sacks and they were a PITA as far as I was concerned so we never did them.
Once she was a bit older we switched to regular onesies underneat her footsie PJs but in the beginning I found the side snap t-shirts to be the easiest!

You don't sounds like an idiot!  It's basically feetie PJs. It's a one piece outfit that newborns can wear all day or at night. DS1 lived in them the first few weeks because it was cold out & I couldn't get regular socks to stay on his feet lol

DS was born in the beginning of October, he slept in side snap t-shirt and diaper and was swaddled for the first few weeks.
hen when it started getting cooler, we had him sleep in the cotton footie pj's (sleep n play) and would swaddle his lower half.
He also wore fleece pj's when it was colder out or we would add a layer of the sleep sack.
i never put a onesie or shirt under the sleep n play as i thought he'd be too hot or bulky.
I think it depends on the temperature/time of year and how hot/cool you keep your house.
As newborns, they need to be kept warmer than you do, but not to the point of getting overheated.
he now sleeps in a cotton sleep n play with sleep sack - either cotton or fleece depending on night time temp
we keep his room at 68 at night

Diaper, socks, footy sleeper, aden & anais muslin swaddle (it's a lighter material than fleece so they don't overheat).
Sometimes I'd add a onesie under the footy sleeper if it was really cold, but also because that way baby is less exposed when you open up the sleeper to change diapers.
If it was really warm, then just a onesie, diaper, socks, and swaddle.
