BTDT moms - going home outfit?
So, someone at work told me today that the going home outfit should be a sleeper...so that its easier to put on the baby and covers everything. Is this right? What do you think? I had a 2 pc outfit in mind.
TIA!

I brought home Riley in a 2 piece outfit.
It was a short sleeved side-snap t-shirt underneath.
A pink long sleeved onesie that said "little sister" on top of that.
A pair of grey ruffle butt pants...
Socks...
And a hat that I made to match everything...

I'm not a fan of the whole pj thing. I took my dd home in a frilly dress, cardigan and sunhat. She was born in August. I'm taking my dd2 home in a dress, cardigan, hat and blanket.
This was the dress I took dd home in.

We took DD home in a sleeper with a hat. So easy and it kept her warm.

DD was born in a snowstorm - she came home in an 2 piece outfit with fleece PJ's over it, and it really didn't matter what she was wearing because the then she was in the car seat and had the warm car seat cover over her. I remember going crazy trying to find a cute outfit, but in the end, it REALLY didn't matter at all.

I have heard from others the same thing, to put baby in a sleeper to come home with, but it's just a personal preference. i was originally going to bring home in a 2 piece outfit, but got an adorable sleep n play footie outfit, so he will be coming home in that

Re: BTDT moms - going home outfit?
I had my baby late May and took her home in a short sleeved onesie with a dress over it. I had to have an adorable outfit, LOL. No PJ's here!

I'm bringing home in a 2 piece - pants have feet and top is kind of kimono style. I brought home in something very similar - worked out great and probably easier to change than a one piece.

DS was born in December. He wore a 3 piece footed outfit. The onesie and top were kimono style.

I honestly think it's just up to you & your preference. Last time I had a sleeper in NB size and a 2 pc. outfit for the next size up & I'm going to do the same again...we wound up using the sleeper w/my first, but we'll see this time around!

Re: BTDT moms - going home outfit?
I brought DD home in a onesie. It was over 100 degrees in July though. I just used a blanket when we were in the car on the way home.
For this one, I am due early May so I did buy a sleeper. I just think they are easier to manuver than to put pants on a 2 day old. And I worry about a pants waistband and their little belly buttons.
But that's just my preference.

Re: BTDT moms - going home outfit?
DS was born in April and I took him home in a onesie that said "Introducing Me", a pair of cotton pants, and a sweater coat my mom knitted for him

For DS his outfit was a onesie with pants and a sweater and hat. It was a Carter's 3 piece set that I added a matching sweater to.
For this baby, her outfit is a sleeper with a matching hat and bootie socks. Another 3 piece set.

Re: BTDT moms - going home outfit?
I'm using a footed one piece with fold over mittens, a matching hat and blanket. I didn't want to have to worry about separate mittens and socks or the waist band irritating the belly button stump.
