brunch question

If u went to a party and it started at 230 and the menu was brunch would u be ok with that? Would that be too late for you and you would expect lunch? Thanks so much!

Sure! I don't really go to parties with food expectations. I'm good with whatever.

Re: brunch question

I would expect lunch foods or even light snacks since that's not really a meal time.

I wouldn't be disappointed if it was brunch foods - omelettes, etc. but just surprised.

Usually brunch includes breakfast and lunch foods so it can accommodate most people i'd think.

Re: brunch question

personally i think 2:30 is a little late to start a brunch party; by the time it's done it is almost dinner time!! that said, i like breakfast food any time of day so it wouldn't really bother me, but many people will here 2:30 and think lunch, not brunch. it's also kinda an inbetween time for a meal, anyway

brunch question

Is this a party you're hosting? Maybe on the invitation you can write "Join us for brunch at 2:30" so the guests aren't shocked by the menu.

Re: brunch question

2:30 is a late for brunch. By that time it's lunch time and actually late for lunch since most people eat lunch probably closer to 1ish. You can still do a light lunch since people will probably have eaten something already (unless it's an event that starts at 12 or so, then I'd have a heavier lunch since people may only have had time to eat breakfast but nothing else) but I wouldn't call it brunch or have brunch foods.

brunch question

I wouldn't do a brunch that starts at 2:30; that's when they usually end. Brunch times to me are anywhere from 10-2pm. If you want to serve food at 2:30pm, why not do cold cut platters with wraps, assorted salads, breads, different cold salads, and fruit? That way it's not too heavy for people that still want to have dinner later.

Re: brunch question

I think brunch at 2:30 is totally fine. That's what time we had brunch for Mother's Day, and that was at a restaurant! Chat Icon

brunch question

Why don't you want to do a lunch? You could do a "light" lunch instead of something heavy?

brunch question

I WOULD LOVE THAT!! I love breakfast foods and would have no problem eating them any time of the day! I think it would be something different and fun. Who doesn't love pancakes for lunch?

i would expect more of a lunch party - or small apps/finger foods. that does seem late for brunch.

Re: brunch question

For me, I think 2:30 is a little late for brunch. But I also don't like breakfast foods, so I'd prefer lunch at that time.

I love brunch choices any time of day. I have no problem eating my Veggie stuffed omlette w chocolate chip pancakes or home fries even for dinner. You can also add a few hot/ cold dishes to accompany the brunch menu like pasta salad, broiled salmon, chicken, sausage peppers etc.....
