can i return something off my registry without a receipt?

I am not sure. I have not tried yet, but when I called 1800toysrus to get the balance on a gift card the recording states that effective June 2006 a gift receipt or sales receipt will be required for all returns and exchanges.
I have not tried to bring anything back, but the things I want to exchange were purchased from my registry, so I wonder if that counts?!?!

yes, I have and still am.
Im just getting a chance to go through things....figuring out what I really need.
They just give you store credit which is great for the stuff you will need later, like diapers and formula.
I just know you need to limit your returns, cause just like any other place, they take your license, get info and track your returns.

yeah, they didnt give me a problem. And even returned stuff that wasnt on my registry, but like Smiley said, they take your license.....

I returned a ton of things at BRU after my shower and they were great about it!! I got so much $ in credits and it has come in handy!! They took back everything, an actually the woman at the register told me to bring in everything and she would scan it and tell me if it came from there and if I could return it.

What about a cash refund? Do they do that or they only do store credit?
Because I am probably going to want to return our stroller and car seat and buy a diffrent one from a diffrent store.

I was there earlier today and they said if you don't have the receipt to return, they will give you a store credit.

The only place I know that does cash returns is Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Trust me, you will be able to use the credit at some point. After my DS was born I did more shopping at BRU than anywhere else!
FYI, there is a limit to how much you can return without a receipt. I'm not sure how much it is, but at one point they warned me I was getting close!  I did return a lot of stuff and some of it was big ticket items like a car seat, exersaucer, a stroller. And other times I had the receipt but was just too lazy to look for it since they never gave me a problem.
