BRU pricing nightmare and inconsistent policies

Just an FYI, I went to the BRU in College Point to buy a few things with my 15% completion coupon. I also had a few other coupons that I wanted to stack with the completion coupon but knew that could go either way. Bottom line, buy NOTHING without checking the Internet price first. The Mandala pump I wanted was $401 in the store. While in the store, I checked on my phone and it was $299 on-line. The crib set I wanted was $200 in the store-$141 on-line. I had to friggin tell them to price match themselves! Before even using a coupon I was down $160. They then tried to tell me that since they had given me a "price adjustment" already, I couldn't use my 15% completion coupon on those items- I said- think again. My coupon says no exclusions. They changed their tune and gave me my 15% off those items too. I did this for various other items. I'm just now finding out that they pulled this on my mother the other day who unfirtunately paid full price for something that was $50 less on-line. Why do they do this? It's just ridiculous. Now I have to figure out the best way to get that $50 back.

They also told me that they did not take BBB coupons while other BRU will. So sick of their inconsistent policies.

One good thing is that they did stack a BRU bedding coupon I had with a completion coupon and gave me 25% off from a store sale on bedding too. I still can't figure out if my other 15% off coupon stacked or not as I was adding items to the registry on my phone while in the store to get my discount. Bottom line- I saved a LOT yesterday but it wasn't without a bit of planning and standing up for myself. There has to be a better way.

I cannot stand their inconsistent prices. We really need a BBB out on Eastern Long Island.

Re: BRU pricing nightmare and inconsistent policies

Thanks ladies. You are right. Ultimately I saved almost $300 so it was worth the aggravation. Just now realizing that I did not add the breast pump I purchased to my registry correctly at the store and instead had the original one I registered for on the list so missed out on an additional 15%. Luckily, they did take one 15% off coupon off of it.

BTW, I called about my mother's issue and they will refund the difference between the store price and the on-line price. She only needs to bring her receipt and not the item. However, she can't use the 20% off coupon that I gave her that was for that specific product as they are once again claiming that she is already getting an "adjustment!!" Funny thing is, there would be no need for an adjustment if the prices were the same. I could understand if this was an internet only special, but none of these items were internet only products. I would love to know how they justify having people who go to the store, pick out their own product and then bring it home themselves paying $100 more for a product than someone purchasing the same thing on the internet.

I did not want to register at BRU after hearing all of their issues and going to BBB myself but there is only BBB in the city and it just was not convenient for most of the people I know. I registered for both but very few people bought at BBB. It's a real shame because BBB is fantatastic with customer service.

I know BRU has a lot of restrictions and many don't like them in general but the online vs store pricing isn't just them. Other stores I've had experience with offers a lower price online. I think it was Target or Walmart a while back that this happened to me. When I asked a store employee they said that once you factor shipping costs the price comes to the same as in-store. But yeah, BRU price differences were kind of extreme. Not just a couple dollars. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Glad it worked out in the end.

Side note: I wish they would stop excluding diapers on their coupons!
