Brownies
Someone posted a trick to make brownies with a can of pureed black beans. It sounded gross but I figured I woul give it a try. My DH on the other hand didnt want anything to do with it!
Well I bought a box of brownie mix (milk chocolate type) - they were on sale for $1.25 a box and a 15.5 oz can of black beans - on sale for $1 a can...so I figured if the brownies sucked...I only lost out on $2.25!!
Well I pureed the beansand added it to the bronie mix and stired until mixed. I poured it a PAM "greased" pan and cooked as per the box instructions.
The house smelled like brownies....YUMMY!~
Well we (yes my DH wanted one also) just had them and they were DELICIOUS!! I dont even miss the eggs and oil! Guess my DH liked them also...he is on his 3rd one!!

Re: Brownies
So you substitue the beans for the eggs and oil? I'm confused!
ETA - Glad they were yummy!

Re: Brownies
that is so weird, lol! you can also mix a box of brownie mix with a can of pumpkin puree and they are pretty good as well. I make them in muffin tins. I like them heated with a little bit of vanilla ice cream!

shhhhhh.... I'm going to make these tomorrow... do I tell them before they eat them or after???
ETA He eats both brownies and beans, it's just the combo of the two that he will have a problem with.

Ha! I'd be dying to tell everyone, I don't think I could keep it a secret. But I'd let them in on the secret ingredient after!
I've heard of this before, now I really have to try it.

I thought of something funny... we are having mexican for dinner. This totally goes with it now since it is black beans.

Re: Brownies
I've heard of substituting oil with applesauce before but never black beans! The brownies I make (No Pudge Brownies) have plain vanilla yogurt instead of oil & eggs & they're pretty good in case you're interested.

I actually think these "muffins" come out better when you use Devil's Food mix instead of brownie mix. I make these all the time!
