Britax - which one?

I know this has been discussed before, I'm sorry. If you registered for a Britax convertible carseat, which one did you select and why? We had originally chosen the Marathon but now I'm worried it might be too big because we are in the market for a new car shortly (and prob not an SUV), but I like that it can hold up to a 65 lb child. But is a 65 lb child going to be comfy in it or really need a booster seat anyway, ya know? It's also more costly than the Roundabout and we might have a better chance of someone buying it for us.

The Roundabout is smaller and holds up to 40 lbs and is about $50 cheaper.

Thoughts?

We have the Boulevard so I'm probably no help.
I like it because it goes to 65lbs so I won't need a booster (well not with DD she's so tiny) and IMO a 5 point harness is safer than a booster.

It is also so easy to adjust the straps in the Boulevard compared to the others.

Re: Britax - which one?

I registered for the roundabout. It goes up to 40 pounds. I didn't weigh 40 pounds until I was 6 and a half. I was 65 pounds at 9, and I was a pretty average child in terms of weight. I figured a 9 year old - and even a 5/6 year old is not going to want to sit in a "baby seat" any way. So unless my children are way up the percentiles, I will be fine with the roundabout until they are at least 4 or 5. Then I will get them booster seats.

Re: Britax - which one?

I would go with the Marathon (or Boulevard). Although your DC may be under the weight limit for awhile, he/she will likely outgrow the Roundabout by height first. So, because your DC won't be heavy enough, you wont' be able to go into a booster and will have to buy another carseat anyway. Even if your DC grows out based on weight, 40lbs is still pretty small to be in a booster and I would think a regular car seat is safer. I got the Boulevard for my DD. I was really afraid it would be too big, but its not. I have an SUV but the backseat isn't that spacious, but it works.

we have the roundabout for DD#1. i decided to get it over the marathon because we have a smaller car, and from what i read at the time, kids tend to outgrow the height requirement before the weight. i can totally see this happening with DD - i'm hoping once DD#2 is ready to take it over, DD#1 will be ready for a booster...

Same here. We have 1 SUV and 1 regular car. I don't think it will be a problem and if it's too big, we'll just get a smaller model.
