Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady: A Bitter Celebration
Most fathers shed tears of joy when their first child is born, but when actress Bridget Moynahan gave birth to a baby boy on August 23, father Tom Brady found himself crying tears of sadness instead.
As the NFL star and his parents headed for the exit of the maternity ward of St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, around 9:45 p.m., his eyes welled up.
“I felt so bad for him because he was upset,” an eyewitness tells Us.
To put it mildly, this was likely not the way the New England Patriots quarterback, 30, envisioned his first days as a new dad.
Why the tears?
"Bridget wants nothing to do with Tom," says one Moynahan source.
According to pals close to Moynahan, 36, Brady neglected his ex (whom he dumped in December after nearly three years of dating) for much of her pregnancy, instead choosing to romance his current squeeze, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, 27.
Inside the actress' private suite, “the mood was very somber," says a source. “Their parents gave them time alone to try and work things out, but Bridget is very bitter.”

I agree. It's great he wants to be involved with his son, but he should've always been involved while she was pregnant and carrying his son.

I give her a lot of credit; it's not an easy situation but there are 2 sides. I don't really know how Giselle could even have been dating him with a pregnant girlfriend...but women do it all the time and I'm no one to judge. I bet there are private twists and turns to this, though.

i don't know..i'll probably be bitter too. no matter what happened..in her mind, she carried his child for 9 months and he seen to move on rather quick with someone else. and it's over the newspaper. and now he wants to "work things out"? he should have thought about that the 9 months she was carrying the baby.
i don't know...jmo

Did he think he would have been welcomed with open arms ? He pretty much left her flat, pranced around town with stretch and then gets his panties in a bunch because he didnt get the honour of having the last name. Is it me?? AHHH to each his own.

Re: Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady: A Bitter Celebration
I think the situation s*cks, I don't care if you are a celebrity or a "regular" person. He has rights to be in the child's life, no? If I were her, I'd be bothered by being forever tied to this person but given that the tie that binds is a person who right now may be a clueless newborn, he will someday have feelings about this as well. I don't know how you handle it without some sort of confusion, especially in the beginning - in terms of how to deal with this other parent who you were once with and now is with someone else. I mean, if that were my child and he had a right to have the baby for say, the weekend. It would bother me that his current girlfriend - the one he dumped me for - gets to spend time with my baby too while I am at home without him (the baby).
Whatever the case, for their son's sake, I hope they come up with some way of handling it sanely.

Really...this is the 8th month of the year, if she was 3 months pregnant at the time of their break up, that would make her pregnant for 11 months. (Because didn't they break up in Dec?)
I thought they didn't find out she was pregnant until after they split up.

Re: Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady: A Bitter Celebration
If I were in her situation (as it's presented by the media), I would let Tom be a dad. He may not be a lover, or even a friend, but I'd at least let him be a dad and share in the special moments at the hospital.
But, we don't know the whole story.

yea i would be bitter too but i would try to at least work things out and be civil for the sake of our child. she'll eventually get over it, but for now i'm sure she's embarassed and hurt by what he did.

I agree. I hate how everyone is making him the bad guy.
It's not like he left her BECAUSE she was pregnant.
They broke up for other reasons and she happened to be pregnant, from what they both said.
Would you want him to stay with her if he didn't love her just for the baby?

Good question. I, too, wonder what happened. I am not in the least bit Team Brady (he kind of irritates me for some reason) but there are always two sides to every story.....
