Bridesmaid dress shopping
OK ... this is a doozy.
My very best friend in the universe is getting married next August 19. I am her matron of honor.
I am due May 15.
We're going bridesmaid dress shopping on October 17.
So what am I supposed to do here? Order two sizes up from my usual size? I'm a larger lady to begin with. Can/should I wear Spanx? I will be about 10w.
Seriously, I'm at a loss. She's telling me to do whatever I'm comfortable with, but I don't know what that is! Advice please!

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
I'm in a very similar situation. I am due at the beginning of December and one of my BF is getting married in April. She wants us to order dresses ASAP (she already chose one), but I've been holding off. I'm 8 months pregnant so how are they going to measure me now? She told me that I could hold off until after I have the baby if I want, so I think that's what I'm going to do.
Could you possibly hold off until May? That would still give yourself plenty of time to get the dress in time. Or, since you aren't very big yet, maybe get measured now?

I can probably hold off until May, but I don't know when I'd be able to order the dress, if it'd still be available, etc.
I think I will just ask the salesperson when I go. And in the process let the other BMs know I'm preggo. They'll wind up knowing before most of my other friends, but I guess that's just how it has to be!

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
I'm due in 6 weeks and in a wedding in April. I just had to order a BM dress last week. I'm normally a size 6-8 [probably 8 (maybe even 10) for a BM dress if it runs very small which I find many do]. My hips and bust measured a BM 12 at 34 weeks but they suggested I order a 14 because if you are breastfeeding (I plan to), you bust expands. I think the dress will be ridiculously huge but I figured better big than small. I'll just find a great tailor. Maybe you can do with the same approcah.
