brick repointing vs siding over
I love that we have a brick cape, but its definitely aged and needs some repointing work. Has anyone done this and is it crazy expensive?
Part of me is thinking if I just resided the house over the brick, it would be way cheaper, but it seems like a sin to side over brick, lol

I hate old brick so I’d either side it or put a stone veneer right over it.

We had siding on top with brick facade on bottom before I resided top to bottom. It changed the entire feel of the house
If you love brick, then have it restored. Don’t cover it because it may be easier or cheaper (unless money is a big issue)

I LOVE brick. I have brick and had it repointed. Very much worth it to me. I would never change the brick on my house. I have split. I think it was like $3500 to have all the work done. It would really depend on how much you need work wise!

how much did you have to get repointed? We have siding on the top and just the bottom half is brick.
I've also heard of something called brick staining, which sounds really cool. they stain the brick, so it still shows it nicely, it's not like being painted over. Would be so cool go to like a rustic gray stain on my brick but idk how expensive that is!

We had half a wall of brick and put stone veneer over it. It was not very expensive and our house now looks completely different. LOVE isn't even strong enough to describe it!
