breastfeeding weaning question
Is it possible to stop nursing and pumping during the day but be able to nurse at night only? I don't get enough sleep as it is, so if I had to get up to make a bottle at 4:00am I would be miserable!
Alexandra till wakes up almost every night at over 5 months. Even if she had a 5 or 6 ounce bottle right at bedtime at 10:00.
I try to sooth her to sleep but she wants the boob! So I put her in bed and we end up sleeping together. I want that to stop too even though I do love having her there. I am weaning now and don't know how to deal with this if she still wakes up in the night.
Any suggestions? Can I still BF at night if I stop pumping all day?

Re: breastfeeding weaning question
Maybe - I tried but I dried up and he was still hungry after nursing. Since she is older (my DS was only 3 mos) maybe she is just using you to soothe her and doesn't really need to eat. Who knows with these little ones. My DD who is 2 now didn't sleep through the night until about 6 mos so I feel your pain.

Re: breastfeeding weaning question
I BF before work and when I came home. I had pumped during the day, but when I started to wean, I stopped the pumping sessions and just did the BFing in the morning and evening and it was fine. He still got milk. Your body will regulate based on the demand.
