Breastfeeding time question
Do you time how long they eat on each side? 15 mins each? Or more when they seem to stop on their own?

Breastfeeding time question
in the beginning I tried to time them, like 15-20 min on each side... but he quickly became very efficient and would only need one boob at a feeding, so I would just alternate boobs throughout the day.

Breastfeeding time question
I don't time it. When she unlatches on her own and I feel empty, I burp her and offer other side. She's gotten more efficient at it so it doesn't take as long.

Breastfeeding time question
When DS was first born, I'd time it so I could try to equal out my supply. I stopped around 7-8 weeks.

Breastfeeding time question
Not at all. I let her go as long as she wants on the first side and then offer the second if she wants it. My first would do 15-20 minutes each side and my younger one usually does 10 minutes tops on one side only and has gained faster.

Re: Breastfeeding time question
I did at first, but then I stopped. I think average time is about 20 minutes per side. My DD on the other hand stayed there all freakjng day, especially in the beginning.

Re: Breastfeeding time question
Never timed, but on average was about 20 minutes. If I noticed they stopped or were just doing it for the sucking motion (not actually eating), I took them off.

Re: Breastfeeding time question
I was always told to make sure they empty first breast, then offer 2nd breast. Don't get trapped into time constraints. You want them getting the fatty hind milk. At the next feed, offer the second breast from prior feeding first.
