Breastfeeding Question?
I just went back to work last week and have started supplementing with formula.
Since coming back, my supply has definitley dropped, which I expected.
Was just wondering if it was possible to only nurse at night? Or will my supply simply go away since I am not nursung during the day any longer. I really am only able to pump once at work.
TIA!

Breastfeeding Question?
It works on a supply and demand system, so if milk is being demanded only at night, that's when the milk will be there.

Re: Breastfeeding Question?
I tried that and I was unable to continue BF. Once I weaned the daytime feelings, my supply basically dried up altogether. I could be an anomaly though...

Re: Breastfeeding Question?
I think it really depends. Everyones body is different. I stopped EBF when I went back to work. I only BF DS when I get home from work 3pm-10pm and my supply has dropped drastically and it keeps dropping. Im now only producing 2oz of BM when I pump in the AM (and I pump every morning) and sometimes even while Im home I have to give DS a bottle because he is still hungry. However, maybe its just me, maybe your body will adjust better to it.

Re: Breastfeeding Question?
When I went back to work, for about three months I was able to nurse in the morning and at night, with one pumping session during the day. My supply adjusted accordingly, but sustained for a few months. I wish I had kept at it, but the one pumping session was at varying times, so that impacted my supply and made it impractical to keep trying.
