Not sure how old your LO is, but since DD was like 3 months she only ate from one side at a time. Even now at 11 months she only eats from one side at a time and only takes 4 ounces max in a bottle.

my dd only eat for about 15 min on 1 side as well...it is normal for the feeding to get shorter as they get older bec they are more efficient at getting the milk out than when they were newborns..

i can prob count on one had when i had to switch sides..

Yep - both my 1st son and now my 3 week old were what my ped call "efficient eaters." I bf my son for a year & by the end he'd only do a single 10 min. session each time before he was done (sometimes less). My 3 week old ds seems to do one or two 20+ min. sessions per day & then switches to 7-15 min. sessions (on 1 side). His ped checked & weighed him the other day & said not to worry as he seemed happy/full and had gained a pound & a half in a week!

I have twins and each only gets BF from one side.

Hudson usually eats for 15 minutes, while Stella only for 8-10! They are both gaining, so I think it's normal and every baby is different Chat Icon

Both of mine for always one side nursers. It has actually been imbedded in our culture that its never enough but in cultures all around the world they are taught to feed on one side only.
Your baby will deteremine how much they get ion each side by how much they stimulate your supply. So ds may have got your supply on the one side just where he wants it and does not need the other side.
If it makes you feel better offer the other side anyway.

Sounds exacly like my ds. Since he was born, he never ate more than 10minutes, and rarely took both breast. However, he nursed about every 1.5-2 hrs during the day. Just in the last couple of weeks , he has starting going almost 15 minuted and still usually only takes one breast, but now goes 3-4 hours between feedings. The dr said he was an efficient eater since he has hovered around 90% for weight since he was a month old. He's 3 months old now.

As long as he is gaining enough weight, I wouldnt worry. Some babies just eat faster than others .
