Breastfeeding diet for moms with reflux babies
My baby has been acting very irritable recently. Symptoms were similar to silent reflux. My ped said to change my diet. Then, if that didn't work I can try meds. Of course, my whole diet is on the no no list. I mostly eat fibrous foods and dairy. I am curious what specific foods people cut out that definitely helped. Any tips would be great!

Breastfeeding diet for moms with reflux babies
I gave up A LOT. I haven't had dairy (hidden or otherwise) in months. I did the total elimination diet and only ate sweet potato, rice, and avacado for two weeks. I took out nuts, tomatoes, broccoli, onions, cauliflower, pinto beans, etc. for a long time. And I don't eat meat, so it was hard. The truth is...NONE of it worked. It wasn't until we put LO on Prilosec (he was on Axid before that) that we saw results. I also think it is because he is older now. Just this week I started having hidden dairy. And for the past two days I have had a little cheese each day. I have seen no negative impact.
The diet was difficult, but if you are seeing results from the diet, don't torture yourself. It just may not be that.
Good luck!

Re: Breastfeeding diet for moms with reflux babies
I think my diet change worked. My baby seems much more content. After eating he sleeps on me, as opposed to screaming in my face. He is still arching his back a bit after he eats, which is a sign of reflux, but he more consolable. I am not doing total elimination, but I was eating black beans and frozen yogurt everyday, which I stopped.

Dairy was the biggest culprit for me. Tomatoes and tomato sauce too, I didn't notice a difference with gluten.
