breastfeeding but back to work ???

Not a mom yet, but wondered and wanted to weigh out BF vs formula feeding........how do u breastfeed but go back to work say after 6-12 weeks then what??? BoTtle feed breast milk? Breastfeed after work and bottle feed with sitter there during work ?? Any tips appreciated

I pump at work for DD, she has only had BM so far and I hope I can keep it that way for a while.

It is a big commitment but it can be done, a lot of moms on here have really inspired me!

I only pump, but some moms nurse when they are home.

Pump and bottle feed with BM during work hours, breastfed before leaving in the morning and at night.

I pumped for 10 months with each of my children while working full time and they were exclusively breastfed for 13 months each. I know I am by far not the only one. It can be done and it's great in so many ways!

When DD turned 8 weeks, I went back to work. I would leave pumped bottles of milk for the sitter and BF her when I was home. Sometimes I would give her a pumped bottle of milk at home if I was in a hurry (DD was a slow nurser). DD's almost 14 months now and she's still running through my freezer stash!

Thanks ladies this is very helpful. I'm glad to hear BM bottle and BF combo can be done if introduced together early. Now my concern is that I'm a teacher and only have a prep and lunch daily- no place to actually pump besides my room (locked door and cover door window) however sometimes preps are in the classroom which only provides lunchtime pumping. Just thoughts running through my head about the possibilities. Thanks again moms! ;)
