Breastfeeding and Baby Sleeping
DS falls asleep at almost every meal. He is 6 weeks old and I am beginning to think that I will never have a chance at him sleeping through the night if I can't get him to stop falling asleep while he is eating. It also keeps me "tied" down more as he will eat 1 side, fall asleep and be hungry in half hour to an hour.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep him up? I tried changing his diaper after one side, that doesn't work most of the time.
TIA

Is he swaddled? You could try to unswaddle him. Or striping him down to his diaper to cool him off which should wake him up if he is cozy.
When my DD does this - I take her off and burp her that usually wakes her up. Or I sit her on my lap and talk with her - moving her generally gets her up and alert again. Get him to interact with you was the key for me.
The lactation consultant at the hospital told me when she falls asleep pick her up under her arms and gently swing her legs like a pendulum - you have nothing to lose by giving it a try right?
