Breastfeed poop?
It dawned on me a while speaking to my before that DS hasnt pooped yesterday or today. He is 5 weeks old, I know that BF babies might go for a few days without pooping but I thought that was later on. I have been supplementing with 2 bottles of formula a day for the past few days due to the breast infection, do you think that could be it?

Re: Breastfeed poop?
Is he crying a lot, like in pain? I would see what is going on tomorrow. The formula could be binding him up a bit.

Re: Breastfeed poop?
He isnt crying but he does seem to have a hard time digesting the formula because he is usually fussy after a bottle and then I have to give him mylocon and I never had to do that before. He was on regular similac and the doctor said switch to soy but that isn't helping so I am going to try the low iron.

Re: Breastfeed poop?
I breast feed DD 8 weeks old and the 1st few weeks of her life she would go a few days in between without poop. Now she goes daily.

Re: Breastfeed poop?
I would not rush to soy..JMO..but if he is okay onBM then I wonder if a more senstive regular formula would help. Have you tried Carnation Goodstart? I have read that is a really easy formula for babies to digest. Maybe try that, or increase BM production and move off the formula.

Re: Breastfeed poop?
I am only giving him 1 to 2 bottles of formula and that is because I can't pump enough for the day I have enough for the night feeds and I rather give him the formula during the day that way if he is fussy its while I am wake and not half asleep. I really cant wait until I dont have to use the formula but I need dh's help so bad right now.

Re: Breastfeed poop?
Try to eat oatmeal and increase your pumping by 5 minutes each session. That might help with production. Call the ped and ask about the good start formula..I have heard that it is easy to digest. might help the baby feel better after the bottles HUGS.
