Breastfed babies' spit up question (kinda gross)

what does it look like? Today my DS threw up all over himself and it had cottage cheese-like lumps in it. Is that normal??

yes, my DS did that a few times. Then I read in one of my books to have him sit upright for 30 minutes, which helped. After doing so it only happened 2 times. So now at morning feedings I am up at least an hour Chat Icon

but he's my boy so all worth it Chat Icon

Yes, I think that just means the milk was partially digested as opposed to recently swallowed.

yes, this is what i was told as well, watery means it was not digested, cottage -cheese like means it was already digested partially by the stomach , ah, the joys of motherhood Chat Icon

Yes, sometimes DS's spit up is like that - sometimes more watery. I think it does depend on digestion b/c it is usually watery only if right after. Also, as a pp said - keeping DS upright after DEFINITELY cuts down on the spit up alot - if I change him right after he eats - forget it!

Thanks! I feel much better now. I'll try keeping him upright and see if that helps.
