Breast tenderness/soreness?
I am both breastfeeding and pumping for DD who is 6 weeks old. HOwever for the past two days my right breast is extremely tender on the middle inside and middle outside/lower half. It does not hurt while I am feeding DD but is is just extremely sore to the touch What could this be?? Should I be concerned? I do not have a fever or chills and there is no swelling or excessive redness in the localized areas. The only other symptom I have had and this is for the past 4-5 days are some headaches which I normally do not get - but I was attributing them to lack of sleep TIA

It sounds like a clogged duct. Is there a hard spot where it hurts? Try massing the spot often, run a hot shower directly on it, especially right before a feeding. Always have your baby start the feeding on that side, and point her nose toward the spot while she nurses. Warm compresses also help! Hope it feels better!

Thank you so much. I did exactly what you told me and it feels a little bit better. I am going to follow your advice for the next few days. Thank you again!!
