Breast Pumps??

I am BF'ing my DD and the LC suggested pumping so DH can bottle feed her during one of the night feedings to let me get some sleep.

What breast pumps have you used or do you currently use? TIA Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: Which is better?? Isis Back-To-Work Breast Pump or Medela Pump in style advanced?

Most working moms use the Pump in Style.
I have the Pump in Style Advanced and the Ameda Purely Yours.

Re: Breast Pumps??

I have the Medela Pump In Style Advanved. I cant say enough good things about it. It's fast, it doesn't hurt...

I don't know anything about the Isis Back-To-Work Breast Pump.

But which ever way you decide to go, let me just say that pumping every once in a while so that my DH can give an occasional bottle has been GREAT!!! It makes a big difference!!!

I had both the Medela Pump in Style and the Avent Isis (manual pump based on suction). I liked both but the Medela is definitely faster. Avent was more comfortable

Re: Breast Pumps??

The PIS or PISA is by far a better pump IMO. I even liked the Medela hand pump MUCH better than the Advent. I was unable to get ANY milk with the Advent and I was pumping full day BM for my daughter with my PISA.
While the PIS(A) seems like it costs more, it really doesn't when you factor in time and comfort and results. JMO

Re: Breast Pumps??

is it worth getting the PIS for just occassional pumpings? or would a hand pump be more practical? i thought the PIS was more for full time pumping, no?

Re: Breast Pumps??

I have the Medela Pump In Style Advanved. I loved it - it worked so well and didnt hurt at all.

I ended up not being able to breast feed Katie because she couldnt tollerate my milk, so I was going to sell my pump.

It was only used for about 7 days. I paid $319 for it (dont remember what the total was with tax) and I was thinking about selling it, if you're interested. The parts that come with it are all dishwasher safe and have all been washed.

I was going to list it on Ebay soon for about $250.

I wish I would have seen this earlier. DH just purchased one for me last night, we opened it and I used it already. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
