breast pump

Hi I had read on here awhile ago about some insurances covering breast pumps.... I totally figured mine wouldn't but I was bored at work and figured let me just try - so I called and it is covered at 100 percent!!! I have empire blue cross/ blue shield ppo
so happy that saves me about $300!!

Re: breast pump

Can you just buy any brand you want and they may cover it?

Re: breast pump

no- you actually dont buy it they use edgepark a medical supply company- they send you the one your insurance covers- i asked exactly which mine covered and they told me they werent sure until they processed the claim. they told me to call like a week before i was scheduled to deliver and all you need to do give them your obs name and phone number they call them to confirm and then send it out.

Re: breast pump

I called when I was pregnant with DD and they said they only covered one if I was discharged from the hospital without DD. I called EdgePark earlier this year and they said as soon as out deductible is met the insurance will cover 80%, maybe they swing something with the insurance, but the baby is due soon so as soon as he comes, out deductible will be met and I can get my pump.
