Breast milk production question
How long can you go without either pumping or nursing before your breast milk dries up? I may have to have surgery ( ) but I want to continue to BF until DS is 1. I dont know if I will be ok to pump after surgery... anyone have any advice?

no advice about the surgery part. but when i was finished bfing and pumping it took awhile for it to dry up completely, but my decrease in amount of production did start quickly.

Re: Breast milk production question
Can you pump at all, even for comfort? I could only go 6, maybe 7 hrs before I was in pain...but when I stopped BFing I had to pump a little here and there for comfort and slowly stop the feedings. It took WEEKS for it to go away. Like, it slowly dwindled maybe over 3 or 4 weeks.
I would assume that if you had a few days where you couldnt BF, that you wouldn't effect your supply that much.
How many days do you think you'll be unable to pump or BF?

Why don't you just pump and dump, if you can, until you can feed him again?
