Re: breast infection?
I got it when DD was about 6 weeks...Don't know what causes it but felt terrible. Did your doctor give you an antibiotic? I took that and also tylenol every four hours to get rid of the fever. Feel better!

Re: breast infection?
kellymom is a website that helps with bfing. I had a breast infection also when DS was about 6 weeks. Used the antibiotic and it went away. They say make sure the baby empties the breat completly so that the ducts don't get clogged. The infection could be from a small crack in the nipple. My ob told me after I nursed to then pump to empty the breast. Good luck.

Did he say you had mastitis? That's usually when you develop a fever. Here's some info on breast infections from kellymom .
I hope you feel better soon

Re: breast infection?
I had mastitis when my DS was 4 weeks old---I had fever, chills & breast pain/redness on one side --- it got better with antibiotics. I think it can start from a clogged milk duct. I definitely agree, kellymom is a great website for help regarding any BF problems. Feel better
