I WOULD NOT DO IT!!!! Obviously this is just my opinion, but most of the treatments they use formaldahyde, where the stylist will need to wear a mask to cover her face from the fumes, and I would not want this around me while I'm pregnant....
ETA: My stylist will not do it while I'm pregnant or breast feeding

Re: Brazilian keratin and pregnancy!
honestly--at this point in your pregnancy i would just wait
I had it done pre-pregnancy and the fumes were hard for even me to bear
I dont recommend it for preggos at all

(I just clicked on the thread becuase I had no idea what Brazilian keratin is... I actually thought it was a food supplement or an exfoliant )

Nope. I have even heard that they are considering pulling it off the market b/c the formaldehyde (sp?) is soo strong that it may be a health risk.

Re: Brazilian keratin and pregnancy!
my cousin is actually certified to do this and she said she would never even consider doing it to anyone that is pregnant.
hope that helps a little.

Probably safer to wait until after you have the baby and, if you BF, done with that. I've had it done pre-pregnancy and the fumes were very strong. My salon won't even schedule an appointment for someone who is pregnant at the same time someone else there is getting the brazilian done.

Yup, they claim, that the ones in the US aren't using it, which is BS, they are, just marketing it differently, there was a huge article in the times I beleive about women dying in Brazil bc they were doing it too much and inhaling too much of it on a regular basis....
