Brazilian Blowout

is this a good deal, and is it worth the money?

$299
as seen on E! and in People magazine
The end result is smooth, healthy frizz-free hair and radiant shine!
No Harsh Chemicals.
Formaldehyde Free!
Entire treatment completed in just 90 minutes,
No down time. The minute you leave the salon, you can wash & dry your hair!
Results last up to 12-16 weeks.

Has anyone has this done?

Re: Brazilian Blowout

the original Brazilian Blowout is formaldehyde based, so not sure what they man by "no harsh chemicals"

I've known women who've gone into respiratory distress after having the original Brazilian Blowout treatment.

With that said there are many different kinds now, they are either formadelhyde based, or acid based.

The acid based are much cheaper, but can really hurt and damage your scalp, can lead to hair loss. I've had Rejuvenol done and I lost a significant amount of hair up to a month after treatment. My sister told me it would happen, I told her I have so much volume, I don't care ... big mistake on my part

The one brand I really love for this is Coppola, its a little more expensive product for stylist to buy. Its aldehyde based, what they did is take a less toxic form (aldehyde is used in perfumes) and used that as a base since its not that good of a sealant like formadehyde they add some acid too, but nothing as strong as if they needed it alone.

Now that I've scared you, my sister is a stylist in a LI salon and charges 250 for Coppola, she's very reasonable and professional, but fills up fast, I usually have a 2 week wait to see her. FM me if you want her info.

Hair Club IB is also really popular (its essentially a hair factory in Flushing) I don't remeber what they told me, but I think their price is around 200 - call them to be sure.

This can be a dangerous treatment, have a consultation with your stylist, so you know all the side effects and consequences before you do it. Be very skeptical of the "no harsh chemicals" slogan. Ask the stylst to look at the bottle. They often give it to you to smell, and say "oh look, doesn't it smell so nice, how can this be harsh" - yeah right!

Write down, remember the brand, google it to death, ask around. Then once you are okay with what you know get the treatment.
