Braxton Hicks Contractions
I think I got my first BH contraction last night, which made me ridiculously excited! But I'm not sure. It just felt like a weak period cramp that came and went away. Not painful though (although period cramps never really bothered me too badly). Can someone explain to me what they feel like? TIA!

I can't get an accuracte description. I thought I wa shaving them when I would feel this weird solid tightening feeling- like my stomach turned to lead.

Re: Braxton Hicks Contractions
I think they feel kind of like a tightening. Or like the baby is trying to push it's back against your abdominal wall.

Thats' what mine felt like too. No pain, just real tightning feeling, and my belly was rock hard. After a few second, everything loosened up and turned to flab again...

Get out! Was it the 'musician's' questions that sent you into labor? I was hoping it would do it to me just to get him to stop it with the 100 beats a minute crap
BH, from what I understand, are like contractions in that they are different for everyone. I have had both types so far - cramping (period-like) and pressure and then the tightening also. So yes, I'd say they were probably BH (assuming you're drinking enough water ).

Re: Braxton Hicks Contractions
I've had the feeling of the baby pushing it's tush against to abdominal wall, but I never considered that tightening. I'm just lost. I can't read my body. I'm just gonna be in labor one day and have no clue it's happening. I'll be that woman who delivers her baby in a store, train or some other place that not a hospital.

The musician made me PIMP. I couldn't look at my DH b/c I was trying not to lose it.
Good to know that there are different types. I was getting confused and frustrated trying to figure out what's going on! I do drink a lot of water though.

That first one is more likely BH. This thread gave me the weird dull, achey period cramp. Ohh dear- he just kicked me in the cervix. Yowzas.
I agree about the cluelessness, but I htink any weird feeling occuring over and over is going to clue you in on it being labor. So you don't have to have Zack Morris deliver your baby in a trapped elevator.
