Braxton Hicks ..
Wondering if anyone has any insight ..
* Around what point in your pregnancy do you usually being feeling braxton hicks contractions?
* Do everyone get them, or does it just depend on the person ..
* What do they really feel like?
(yup, I can look all this up ... but I find you ladies always give better answers than books or the internet )
Thanks!

I felt them at 30 weeks with Emma and about 23 weeks with Jeremy

I think everyone gets them, your uterus is practicing
* What do they really feel like?
they feel like a muscle cramp in your stomach, your whole stomach tightens, stays tight then releases

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
Hello!
With Caiden I got them around 26 weeks or so, but with this PG I've been getting them since 16 weeks. I get them a lot now and I'm just about 30 weeks. I know they're not suppose to hurt, but when I get them I get a lump in my belly, a VERY tight feeling and I get winded a bit and mine have caused a bit of achiness as well. Mine I can say are very uncomfortable.

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
I got BH's around week 20.
For me - As I got further along in my pregnancy, the more uncomfortable they got.
I would get a tightness in my belly. Later on they got more crampy feeling. They usually lasted anywhere from 30 secomds to a minute or so.
Also - My belly looked deformed when I got them.

This is exactly how i am/was. Around 20 weeks...and my belly looks so odd when its happening, my husband can tell right away when i am laying down and having one. Its not painful, but very uncomfortable sometimes. It scared me at first but i'm getting used to them!

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
Thanks everyone!
I don't believe I've had any braxton hicks yet, unless I'm totally oblivious to it (which I don't think I would be given how you all described them)
.. I'm 26 weeks along, and keep waiting to see if I feel them - but it seems like I'll know when they happen!

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
Does it just feel like tightening (almost a cramp but not quite) in your lower abdomen? I had that really bad last night and was scared, didn't even think of BH's...thought it was too early. For those who have had it, what does it feel like exactly?

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
I didn't have any Braxton Hicks with my first pregnancy. I'm 26 weeks as well and haven't had any with this pregnancy so far either.

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
I got them around 30 weeks. Mine felt like a stabbing pain in my pelvis and groin. They also felt like a tightening around my abdomen sometimes, but for the most part mine were in the pelvis and groin area (lucky me ). They come and go and if you get more than 4 in one hour call you doctor. 's to all who have BH. I had it a lot while preggo. I did not have m/s, but everyone pays their pregnancy "dues" eventually. I had BH really bad from week 30-37 and the last week of my pregnacy I had predonal labor for 7 days!

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
I'm 35 weeks and haven't gotten them yet. I drink about a gallon of water a day which might be why I dont get them? I hear you get them more often if you aren't hydrated enough but what do I know...

Re: Braxton Hicks ..
I believe that BH goes away if you change your position.
I know I've had them, because my NST shows them every 6-10 minutes. However, I just started recognizing them. I think that for weeks I just confused them with the baby moving around- I didn't realize what they were. Sometimes I'm still not sure if it's the baby movement or BH. Lately I've had more stabbing pains in the lower abdomen/groin area.
