Brand new shoes already looking worn???

I bought a pair of Via Spiga pumps last week (50% off!). I went to put them today on for only the THIRD time and immediately noticed that the bottoms are peeling to expose the cork or whatever is under the thin black layer on the bottom of the soles.

What the hell? I wore them twice and I work in an office. The most walking I did that was outdoors was from my car to my building.

This shouldn't be happening already, right?

Maybe someone returned them after wearing them and that is why they were on sale. Chat Icon Personally, I would return them or at least call the company and talk to them about it.

If they are leather on the bottom the black layer wears off quickly, b/c it is just like coast of paint or something over the leather....

IMO Via Spiga shoes are highly over-rated. I've had better shoes from Payless! I just sold the 1 pair I own on eBay. I should have NEVER bought them!

I still have a pair of Via Spigas that I bought YEARS ago and still look great. Maybe the quality of their products has declined.

That's exactly what it looks like - a thin coat of paint peeling off.

So it's normal then?

As far as I know....any nice pairs of shoes I have that have leather soles have worn on the ball of the foot as soon as I wear them, but they stay like that for a while. It's not like it gets worse with each wear....

More inexpensive shoes are usually synthetic on the bottom, so you don't notice the wear as much.
