Boy 1st Birthday Gift Ideas!!

DS 2 will be one a week from today and people keep asking me what to get him! I have no idea since I feel like we already have a zillion boy toys from DS 1 (car toys, little people, ride ons, etc.), as well as plenty of hand-me down clothes. Sure, new clothes is always nice, but I want him to get some fun new stuff of his own. And I suppose it's rude to ask for cash, right? lol "Help contribute to his college fund"

Please share some ideas that I can give to friends and family members who keep asking!!

I know exactly how you feel!!! My boys are 22 months apart and they have 2 older boy cousins that they inherit toys and clothes from!

Beatbo, books, superhero capes/costumes, crafts, parachute (ds2 freaking loves this!), Chair, backpack, personalized CD (they have ones where you're name is sung by Mickey or Elmo, etc).

To our immediate family members we told them that DS doesn't need anything but it would be greatly appreciated if they would contribute to his college fund which they did. I said to them that he doesn't need anything right now but he will in the future going to college. I didn't see any reason not to and they all understood and were happy to give a monetary gift knowing it would be saved for something important.

Everyone else we said Duplo blocks, sneakers and books (he received a couple of singalong books, a book about going potty with Elmo and a bunch of Little Golden Books).

Someone got DS a fisherprice basketball hoop. I thought he was too little but DH put it together anyway and he loves being picked up by DH and putting the ball in the basket.

I understand your pain - I have 4 boys and it seems crazy to get new toys for the little one.

Do you have a step 2 car? they are the best or maybe some new puzzles or books to call his own.

We usually ask for clothes for the next season. So LO is a July baby, so we try to ask for fall/winter clothes in the next size up, not always easy but then people buy gift cards.

For 1st birthday we got the Pottery Barn anywhere chair for LO. It was perfect and a favorite. Also, those form flip out character couches are cute. All summer stuff is probably on sale now, so maybe some outdoor activities for your son for next year? Water table, bubbles machine, table and bench, slide?

Thank you for all of the ideas! We got DS2 his own personalized anywhere chair but I found a few outdoor toys he might use for next year and worked off of some of the other recommended suggestions. I appreciate the help!!
