Bottles and Toddlers
How many bottles and ounces does your toddler have in a day? When did you wean off? DD is 16 months. She has a 6-8 oz bottle when she wakes up and when she goes to bed. She will have anywhere from 0-2 additional bottles during the day. Sometimes she asks for a baba, sometimes not. She drinks from sippy cups during the day and during meals. When do you wean? HOW do you wean? I've heard that night bottle is the last and hardest to go. Any tips?

We waited with DS 1 and I found that the longer you wait the harder it is.
For DS 2 - I took away all bottles a week after 15 months - cold turkey. I thought it would be harder but, he doesn't seem to miss them.
As for ounces - he drinks between 12-20oz a day depending on his mood.

Re: Bottles and Toddlers
At 18 months DD was drinking 3 bottles of 6oz each a day. We swicthed cold turkey. No more bottles at all. It was rough for about 3-5 days. Now at 19 months she still drinks her 3 servings of 6 oz, it is just in her straw cup.

dd is 18 months. she still has two 7-8 oz. milk bottles one in the morning and the other at night. She still isn't drinking as much water as I would like out of a sippy or straw cup during the day. I would like to get rid of the bottles, but feel like I can't.

Re: Bottles and Toddlers
bottles stopped at 12 months. He uses his straw cup. He drinks about 18-20 ounces of milk daily, about 8-10 ounces of water daily. He would drink a lot more milk if I let him.
Weaning off the bottle was easy for us because he only got 1 bottle of breastmilk a day ( he nursed the other 2-3 times a day), and had been using his straw cup for water since he was 6 months old. I just put the breastmilk in the straw cup. No protest at all. We did that for about a month, and then gave him whole milk (instead of breastmilk) at night and during the day ( and he nursed in the morning until 15 months).
