I love those. They are a pain to wash but my son never was gassy.
I stuck all the part in the dishwasher.

I went with the platex drop ins. SO many people told me they started with one thing, but ended up with these.
I htink every baby is different though, and you have to find what works for your baby.

I prefer platex nursers...that's the bottle with the bag...
1. You only have to wash and sterilize the nipples.
2. Baby can hold their own bottle earlier b/c once all the air is squezzed out bottle works like a straw.(Baby learning to hold bottle is essential for busy moms and moms like me w/ multiple children.
3. More convenient when one the go. You only need one holder. Then just pack nipples and dropins (thats the bags).

I just registered for the ones my sister likes....avent bottles (in 2 sizes) and a mix of 3 different nipples (newborn, medium flow & fast flow). I have no idea whats up w/the bag drop in thingys either?? All I cared about was that my breast pump can pump directly into the bottle.
eta: I can always return the unused ones if they don't work right

You register for the bottles, and then I guess you have to see what works for your baby. I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Browns so that's what I have a ton of now. If for some reason my son doesn't do well with those bottles then I will look into different ones.

I use Advent, only because of limiting gas and going from breast to bottle and less parts to clean. We've had zero issues with Advent, you just can't tighten them too much, that's when they leak.
I couldn't be bothered with the Playtex drop ins, or the ventaire's that have extra pieces to clean and the dr. browns that have the most parts to clean.

I think it's just playtex. I feel your pain, I just went through this over the weekend when I registered. I am hoping drop ins work for me, if not I'll try something else. The bags just make sense to me. But the other brands get great reviews too, you have to choose what you want to deal with.
I know it gets overwhelming...good luck!

Avent makes a drop-in bag style bottle now too. I got the Avent to start with, we'll see how it goes. They had a nice starter kit, conversion tops for breast pumps into the bottle, and a lot of storage options (baggies for the new drop-ins, bottles for the conversion top, disposable containers) which I liked.

i regsitered for the avent bottles and playtex ones .. i am not to fond of the drop ins.. nver had been. i gues it is what the baby prefers also
whats the difference between latex and silicone nipples??

i think it's all a preference. I used avent and was happy. We didn't have gas problems, but if we did, I would have gone to Dr Brown's.
I never used the platex drop-ins, but I guess they are easier to clean? I just made sure that I had a lot of bottles and that I could just throw them all in the dishwasher at the end of the day.

I had registered for Avent and Playtex VentAire but returned them both after getting so many recommendations about Dr Browns, also Taylor was getting horrible hiccups and the Dr Browns helped with those

I used the Playtex Airvent ones with DD, and I really liked them. As far as nipples go, my DD was fine with whatever I gave her, but everyone told me the Nuk ones by Gerber were the best.
