Re: bottles & nipples
THe first time around, I registered for some Dr. Brown's and some Avent...I ended up not liking the Avent...I tried a few playtex and didn't like those either...so we went with dr. Brown...they were great!
I had registered for the starter kit, a few extra bottles and a few extra of the slow flow nipples...but I have seen people register for each stage of nipples (and certainly both size bottles)....

Re: bottles & nipples
We use the playtex ventaire and DD loves them (she started on the breast, so we use the wide neck ones, which mimic the breast, but they have standard too). Right now we're using mostly 6 oz bottles, but they sell 9 oz ones too, and the parts are interchangeable which is nice because you can wash them less frequently this way.
We're using slow-flow nipples right now -- all the medium and fast flow ones say to wait until at least 3 months. But it's good to have some of everything on hand.
I've tried a bunch of types of bottles and it was kinda a waste to have them all. I have some breastflow ones from the first years, Dr. Brown's, and the playtex drop-ins too. But the ventaire seems to be best for keeping her from getting too gassy, which we both like.

Re: bottles & nipples
My SIL swears by Born Free. She said she wasted so much money on different bottles and none of them seemed to work as well as Born Free. I suppose every baby is different, but I registered for the Born Free.

Re: bottles & nipples
my son had no problem with born free so i stopped there - my last resort were dr. brown's - they looked like they had tons of parts to wash and put together

I am also not loving how the Br. Brown's bottles have extra parts. Seems like a hassle. Im considering Born Free as well.

BornFree although I had to switch to Dr.Browns for DS because he spit up SO much. Hoping that won't be the case this time around.
