Dishwasher is fine...
Even if you didnt have one just boiling everything up is just as easy and you dont have the added clutter of the sterilizer

I registered for the microwave one to use if I don't want to run the dishwasher every day.

Re: Bottle sterlizerrrrrrrrr
Is the dishwasher ok even if you have an older model without the sterilizing setting?

Re: Bottle sterlizerrrrrrrrr
Never used on - I used boiling water at first and then eventually just periodically ran everything thru the dishwasher.

Re: Bottle sterlizerrrrrrrrr
I'm neurotic...I wash the bottles in the dishwasher then sterilize them with the microwave sterilizer bags and dr. brown's thing.
I know I don't have to, but I do and will continue to for a few more months. I feel like my dishwasher doesn't get them clean enough.

Re: Bottle sterlizerrrrrrrrr
No dishwasher so I bought one. I use it every day. I handwash the bottles and then sterilize them. I have no patience for boiling water.
I've read that most dishwashers don't get hot enough...unless you have one that specifies it DOES sterilize, I wouldn't trust it alone. Also, as my MIL recently learned, you might need to have your dishwsher cleaned. The "jets" that shoot out water in hers became 100% blocked from food particles and basically over time, her dishes were being washed with bits of food!

Re: Bottle sterlizerrrrrrrrr
I only use it when I get new bottles/sippy cups, etc. Then everything goes in the dishwasher.
I feel the first washing should be in the sterilizer.
