Re: Boston trip with kids
Thomas Land is about an hour from Boston, not actually in the city.
I'd check out the aquarium and the Boston Children's Museum. It's a really fantastic museum.
I'm actually here right now but without my kid this time

The Children's Museum. What time of year are you going? The frog pond in the Boston Common is fun for a play time/rest. The spray pond is open through labor day and there is a playground there.
The swan boats in the gardens is also close.

My DS loved the children's museum.
The aquarium is good if you are into that type of thing. I personally find it boring, but my ILs love to go when we visit them.

**Quincy Market has all of the food, not FH Although it has lots of food choices, it can be so busy there and IMO, it's really just a giant food court. There are so many awesome pubs and eateries around Boston that I'd opt for something better. We love the Black Rose pub, it's right around the corner from the Quincy Market area. Great food!!!
We loved the Children's Museum. If you have a membership at the LICM you get in for free with the museum reciprocity. Take a walk through the Public Gardens down Commonwealth Ave, it's the most gorgeous street full of beautiful brownstones. You will end up in the Backbay area which has lots of nice shopping.
We're going again Labor Day weekend. We are swinging by the Brattle Book Shop, just a short walk from the Common. My daughter and I love books and this is one of the oldest used book stores around, thought it would be a cool thing to check out. We are also doing the swan boats in the Public Garden, the North End, Haymarket Square, Harborfront walk, and the Greenway. Can't wait to get back!!! Boston is such an awesome city.

The Boston Tea Party Museum is pretty cool. Faneuil Hall is great for shopping and eating. Walk the Freedom Trail for a great historical experience.

Actually, you're *technically* correct, I always refer to Quincy Market as separate from Faneuil Hall. My mistake. They both fall under the Faneuil Marketplace however, all the food is in Quincy.

Re: Boston trip with kids
No one mentioned Lego. I think it's outside the city but my kids LOVED it! It entertained them for a few hours, not an entire day.
