Re: boston
Not sure if it will be the season for it; but DH & I went 3 years ago and did the Whale Watching through Boston Harbor Tours-that was SO much fun!

Re: boston
Spent four years there in college
For food, definitely check out Cheers (actually called the Bull & Finch pub), anywhere in the North End for good Italian (don't forget to stop at Mike's for some pastries), and down by the harbor for good seafood. I'd also check out a Legal Seafood, either the one at the harbor or the one in the Pru. Even though we have them here, they're better there....that's where they were founded
Newbury street is a great place to just walk around and browse.....think Greenwich Village type...lots of brownstones and cute shops. Of course Quincy Market / Fanueil Hall is a must, and Copley Square can be a lot of fun too.
If you go down by the Harvard area, check out Fire & Ice. It's an awesome restaurant with a hibachi type feel, but different.
Enjoy!

Re: boston
We were just there in June and had such a great time. We walked the freedom trail, took a duck tour (highly recommend), Quincy Market, Public Gardens, Cheers. We stayed in the North End so we ATE a lot! Another poster on here recommended "Al Dente" to us and it was Fantastic! The food and the service were great! We will def go back the next time we are there. We went to Modern Pastry and Mikes and both were delish. I also suggest trying to go to La Pizzeria Regina, the original in the North End, yummy pizza and a great atmosphere (we actually had a waitress who must have been the only boston born and bred yankee fan in the entire city)!
