Boss' Day....

What's your opinion on it?

There are a few kiss ups in the firm i work at and they are chipping tomorrow to buy bagels and donuts for the bosses. I dont want to chip in because I feel like it is a kiss up thing to do. Plus, why spend my money that I hardly get on them. There is maybe one boss that i am fond of. They are saying im cheap because i dont want to chip in. Its not that at all, its more the point.

Re: Boss' Day....

you may just have to do this to appear as if you are a good corporate citizen. Sometimes you have to play the game.

Agreed.

We are doing something for our boss but she rocks..so she deserves something nice.

Hallmark holiday. Same as Admin day. Either appreciate someone all year long or not at all.

Re: Boss' Day....

I also agree.

At the same time, at my firm, we don't really have any one particular boss -- everyone senior to me is sort of my boss in a way - or can be... so we don't do anything for bosses' day...

I'd chip in a few dollars... How expensive can it be if it's all the employees chipping in for the bosses? I'd assume there are fewer bosses than employees and bagels / donuts aren't that expensive... JMHO.

I'd do it just to play along and be a good corporate citizen, as was already said.
