boots for work w/ pants

What are you wearing with dress pants to work?

I have riding boots, heels, stilletos, etc for other outfits but I need to find something professional yet not dumpy looking for work to wear with dress pants. I like a nice heel too.

Thanks, I need to go shopping, looking for ideas.

I usually wear black pants to work so I tend to wear plain ankle boots with a 3-inch heel.

I have both pointy and round toe styles.

I have a pair in brown that I wear with my brown work pants.

ETA: I like the boots that zip up the side as opposed to the trendier ones that are in this season that you see a lot of women wearing over leggings.

That said, we're business casual and I only wear boots with dresses not pants. For some reason, I don't think boots look right with pants for business casual and prefer pumps.
