Booster Seats -what age
Tried a search on here but it is not displaying (probably my laptop as I am overseas) My DD will be 3 at the end of June and is very tall. We will be on a longggg roadtrip when we land and I think a booster seat may be more comfortable and easier. I heard 4 was the best age but my DD currently has a Britax marathon and she seems to have outgrown it. Would 3 be ok and what one would you recommend for a one month roadtrip? thanks and i will keep trying to search on here!!! (even having a hard time navigating the babies r us site!)

Re: Booster Seats -what age
I think since you will be in the car for a long road trip, I'd want the safest possible thing.
How tall is she? It seems the Marathon goes up to 49'?
Graco makes a good seat called the Nautilus that has a 5 point harness still but turns into a booster

DS is 3.5 and we will be using a booster for him in 2 weeks in Florida. We also have an infant so bringing DS's big car seat is going to be too much. He is abot 38in. and 38lbs.

Re: Booster Seats -what age
My son was in his Marathon until he was almost 5 - and he was very tall for his age. He certainly didn't outgrow it!
My DD is 4 and still in her Marathon and I have no plans to move her at all either.
The Marathon that you already have is probably the most comfy out there. I wouldn't switch.
If you did go the Booster route, they say 4 is the minimum age, and I would stick with a 5-point harness one, like the Graco Nautilus.
Good Luck! and have a great trip!

Re: Booster Seats -what age
My daughter will be 4 August 1st. She is 35 lbs and around 42 inches. She is still in a marathon. I personally plan on keeping my girls in a 5 point harness as long as possible. There are crash test videos on youtube that show how important this recommendation is.

You should keep her in a five point harness for as long as possible. It is the safest. There are quite a few car seats that turn into boosters later on. We have the Graco Nautilus for DS when he is older. She will be more comfortable in a seat that is made for her age and weight.
