Booster seat rec

I’m looking for recs for a 5-point-harness booster seat that will convert to one that I can use the car lap belt with. It’s for my car. I’m loyal to Britax but it’s out of my budget and I will never buy another Graco. Any thoughts on other brands?

I know you've said no graco and I've had gracos I loved and one that I hated, but I love the nautilus. Dd has been in it for 3 years now and we've been very happy with it.

I know you said no graco. But I bought my first one which is the graco tranzitions 3 in 1. I really love it. It's on sale for $75 right now.

Another vote for the Nautilus. I know you said no Graco, but DS got it a few months ago and it's a great seat.

Im looking at this one for my 3 kids who are tall. I want to keep my almost 6 year old in a 5 point harness and I love that I can just pull the top to adjust the height.

That's the best part! It's so easy to adjust the height! My dd is 5 but she's in the 90 something percent for height and we still have room to grow.

Re: Booster seat rec

Here is my issue with the Nautilus. I LOVED it as a 5 point harness seat. It was great.

But then we transitioned it to a high back booster and because it is so wide, we had a really hard time buckling the seat belt around it. DD could NEVER do it on her own and even DH and I had major issues with it.

It became such a huge PIA every time we were getting her in it, that we ended up dumping it and just getting an Evenflo AMP high back booster for like $30 on Amazon for both our cars.
It is so much narrower and DD can buckle the seat belt herself every time.

It's a great seat, just a very big, wide seat.

I didn't love it as a high back either. I just ended up getting the TurboBooster when it was on sale on Black Friday at Target.

I also didn't love it as a backless booster. When you take the back off - there are giant indents from where the back was.

see... this must depend on the car. We just switched my 7 year old to the Nautilus with the vehicle's seat belt, and he is able to buckle the seatbelt on his own. I have a 2011 RAV4. So it varies car to car.
