boooo....It stinks sometimes (babysitter related...)
I am sad, we got invited to a last minute thrown together dinner party tonight....but we can't go... ...seven months ago, we could have, but now its more complicated - not only do we need a babysitter, but one who understands how to test dd's blood glucose levels and give her a snack if she needs one...its just not so easy to have the piece of mind to leave her with anyone if you know what I mean - and the two people we usually use aren't free....
and now we get to catch grief from well meaning friends who just don't get it...
ok, vent over.....

and i hate to say it - but 'well meaning friends who just don't get it' - to ME....aren't friends you need.
i so desperately wish we lived closer - i would be there in a HEARTBEAT...as you know how much i adore Sam...

aww, thanks girls...honestly, I understand why they don't get it, I wouldn't if it wasn't my daughter too....until you deal with it all the time, you kinda take things for granted...jess, you know about my heart attack moment last weekend and it just puts things in perspective, I didn't post this on fb b/c i knew they'd see, but it would have been fun....

I don't even know what to say...People that will cause grief because of a medical issue should spend some time with the family and see what it is like. I guess because my friends son is a diabetic, I know what it is like. I wish I could help you out with the babysitting. I know all to well how to test blood glucose levels.

That's too bad your friends are giving you grief. They should put themselves in your shoes. I can completely understand not wanting to leave your DD with someone who doesn't understand the extra care she needs regarding her BG's.
