BOOO HISSS Citibank
we had a no fee, no frills credit card with them that was NO INTEREST for 6 months for purchases over $300.
we've used this card as our "home improvement" line of credit as since we had a very high max. we never had to pay a penny of interest or anything. we were working project by project...paying everything off by the 6 month deadline. next in line was my kitchen, then the garage/guest house..then the first floor bath and the windows project.
apparently Citi didn't like that too much b/c they are discontinuing the card 
we'd love to get another card like this if such a beast exists. does anyone know of one?

This suggestion would only work if all you're doing is Home Improvements and are willing to shop at Lowes.
Lowes offers the same thing on purchases for Home Improvement.
