Re: books
I DESPISE "what to expect... I think its a horrible book".... Here are my suggestions!
"From conception to birth: A life unfolds"
AWESOME AWESOME book!!! My MIL got it for us when we got pregnant. They have real pictures of the baby from the moment of conception to brith!! Great book to read with DH and see what your baby looks like at easch moment etc.
"Pregnancy week by week"
Basic PG book with basic info. Its ok
"A thinking womans guide to a better birth" by Henci Goeer
Great book that talks about all the different tests the pros and cons of each as well as medical intervention during labor and delivery. No fluff just straight forward facts
"Misconceptions: Truth, Lies, and the Unexpected on the Journey to Motherhood "
"Ina May's Guide to Childbirth"
"Birthing from Within: An Extra-Ordinary Guide to Childbirth Preparation "
These are my top few out of over 40 pregnancy and childbirth books i have read

Re: books
I hate "What to Expect.." I feel like it's more "Anything that could possibly go wrong, and what YOU did to cause it."
I'm reading "Your Pregnancy Week by Week," and "Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy."

Re: books
I got the "What To Expect When Your Expecting: 4th Edition". It's the newest edition and has a lot of helpful questions & answers about situations that related to me and my symptoms. Tells you week by week what is going on with you and the baby and shows you pictures about how big the baby is, i love it! I also got DH for christmas "The Expectant Father" and he is learning quite a bit from it
