BOOBS are Going to EXPLODE!!!! Please help!!!
I have stopped pumping b/c I have to go back to work, and I have slowed down to pumping once a day...
But now I'm past 24 hrs and expressing them a little and ice and frozen peas aren't helping!!!
NOT WHAT DO I DO???? They hurt so bad, and it hurts more to hold DS.. And to burp him  OUCH!!!!!
If I keep expressing them every so often, Am I just not helping the drying out process???
They NEED to STOP Hurting!!!!

strap those babies in a tight sports bra and call it a day! 
ETA: mine took about 4-5 days before they stop hurting and boy did they hurt. I think that was worse than child birth!

I thought the stopping of the pumping was worse then the C-section pain. I slowly stopped and then after a week went cold turkey. I walked around with icebags in my bra. After 2 weeks it finally let up. I've read to just stop, then I've read to cut one out at a time (pump session).
anyway you cut it, it's uncomfortable.

I used cabbage leaves
ibprofren
I was full for about a week.
My boy was hospitalized, not eating....I offered the boobs...stood next to bed, he drained them and they never filled again. It actually worked out perfectly.

Not necessarily--your body realized that you are outputting MUCH less milk than normal, and the production will adjust--it just takes awhile.
Does your job allot any time for you to pump at work? I cut out my very last pump by gradually decreasing the time that I pumped for. Started out at 15 minutes (got approximately 8 oz), then I decreased it by 2 minutes each night. The last time I pumped, I didn't even get 1/2 oz. between both sides.
You may want to try bringing your pump to work if hand-expressing is a pain for you. I've never had to do it.
Good luck--I am still nursing 2x a day, so I haven't weaned altogether...guess this is what I have to look forward to!

you should really gradually wean... stopping like this puts you at HUGE risk for mastitis.... I've heard cabbage leaves work

Unfortunately my job isn't a very clean place to work, and I'm constantly on the go. So pumping is not an option for me, but thank you...
What if I pumped less, and didn't fully empty them??? Would this help???

I would stop gradually...maybe pump twice a day and don't empty your boobs out completely when you do pump. Your milk supply will gradually drop.

I tried to reduce my pumping cause it seemed to make sense (MISERY)
Then my family doctor (and mother of twins) said go cold turkey with ice bags.
It took me about 4days but I bought those bra insert ice packs and just had to bite the bullet.
It was a lot better. I still leaked for weeks but the pain was at least tolerable. I felt like i had boulder breasts of pain

YES, that would definitely help. Whatever will send the message to your body, "I don't need this much milk anymore, stop making it at this time!"
